DANCE PARTY – MARCH 2026

Ever wanted to go to a social dance event but felt intimidated attending one? Want to dance with ease and confidence at an upcoming gathering or event? Whatever your reason is for dancing, taking classes is just the beginning of becoming a social dancer. 

Whether you’ve taken classes with SDL (or another) – everyone is welcome to the dance practice party! This is your opportunity to put the time and money you have invested into classes learning dance into practice.  SDL is here to support you in ways that many other studios and teachers fail – by providing a safe and non-intimidating environment simulating a social dance party.

No experience required. No partner required.

BENEFITS OF SDL’s PRACTICE PARTIES

1. Refine dance moves: Over two hours of dancing to help you learn, practice, and retain.
2. Practice leader/follower roles: Classes are a great way to learn steps and figures, but social dancing is when you truly start to see (and feel!) it all come together.  Dancing with many different people enhances your leader/follower skills.  No choreography, just memory recall of figures & steps, and building real connections between leaders & followers. 
3. Fine-tune music recognition: Knowing the difference between the various genres of music is essential for participating in social dance events. Learn to distinguish between Salsa, Cha-cha, and Bachata music. Musicality is also quite important and requires time to develop. SDL’s practice parties simulate music formats used at actual socials to help you fine-tune your ears.
4. Social dance etiquettes: There are do’s and don’ts in the world of social dancing and this practice is the perfect place to learn what these are. We will address the elephant in the room like acceptable & appropriate physical contacts, hygiene, safety, and more in order to make sure you enjoy & your dance partners have good memorable dance experiences.
5. Professional guidance and assistance: Onsite assistance with steps, figures, leads/follows, musicality, and address questions & concerns.
6. Meet & greet: Just like any social event, you can expect to socialize making new connections while dancing, enjoying a snack or over a refreshing beverage.

What to expect?

Simulating a social dance event, this dance party will include Salsa, Cha-cha, Bachata, Merengue, and a dose of Reggaeton to spice things up. So come dance with us, practice, mingle, and refine your social dancing skills so you can shine on any dance floor with confidence!

Refreshments will be provided, and feel free to bring your favorite beverage of choice. PLUS there will be some draws for prizes like free classes, dining experiences, and more!
